Thailand School Trip Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Bangkok Arrival
Say hello to Bangkok. Students and teachers will be welcomed warmly by their private tour guide at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok. We will take students to the hotel by private air-conditioned vehicle with our English speaking guide. After check-in, the rest of the day is free on their own.
Day 2: Bangkok City Tour (B, L)
The second day of our trip, after having breakfast, we will start with a visit to the Grand Palace with its beautiful architecture. Then, we continue to come to the Emerald Buddha Temple – Wat Phra Kaeo which is considered as the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand and located in the historic center of Bangkok. Before entering the main gate to the temple of this temple, students can stop by the Royal Regalia Museum to observe the beauty of its decorative jewelry.
After that, students will pay a visit to the oldest and biggest temple – Reclining Buddha Temple in Wat Pho. It is worth taking a looking around the temple mostly because Wat Pho has good English speaking guides who will provide all interesting information about this temple.
In the afternoon, after having lunch, students will take a long-tailed boat along the Chao Phraya River to see the local Thai’ lifestyle. They will pass the Grand Palace and pay a visit to the Royal Barge Museum, which is a perfect decoration of houses ceremonial King’s Barges with multi-colored glass, stucco, and gilt. As the sun begins to set, return to the hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day 3: Bangkok – Chiang Mai (B, D)
Today, students and teachers will have leisure time to do whatever they want until time transfer to the airport for the flight to Chiang Mai, which is a land of mountains and colorful hill tribes. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, our friendly guide and driver will pick students up from the airport and transfer them to the hotel.
After that, students will spend whole afternoon to pay a visit to Chiang Mai’s famous temples such as Wat Suan Dok, Wat Phra Singh, and Wat Chiang Man which are a must-see destination for those looking for something deep Buddhist culture. In the evening, students will return to the hotel for a scrumptious dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 4: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (B, L)
Today, students will start off your day with refreshing breakfast and transfer to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep which is one of the most northern Thailand’s holiest religious places of Chiang Mai. It is located within Doi Suthep National Park. Then, we will continue our visit to Phu Ping Palace to relax and spend a few hours on going sightseeing garden and taking photos there.
After that, students will have lunch before transfer to the Ping River, where they have a chance to participate in bicycle journeys along narrow roads, through local fruit orchards, rice paddies, and small villages. Interestingly, temples, markets, or traditional northern Thai houses are also ideal destinations for them.
Day 5: Chiang Dao Elephant Training Center (L, D)
Start your day with pickup at around 8 am by our guide followed by a short ride to an elephant site, which is located at Ta Yaak Village, Chiang Dao District, approximately 70 km from Chiang Mai. Interestingly, on the way, students can witness the way of living of people who live on the outskirts of the Chiang Mai area and pass by Mae Rim, Mae Taeng and many hill tribe villages.
After that, students will have scrumptious lunch in Chiang Dao, where they will visit the elephant working camp on the banks of the Mae Ping River and then take part in an exciting trek on an elephant around camp, through the jungle and along the river. Moreover, it is a great chance for students to get a deeper understanding of elephants such as their individual traits, wide life, and their talents.
Afterward, students will board bamboo rafts along a very picturesque stretch of the Mea Ping River to observe the stunning views around the river. In the evening, we will transfer back to the hotel and have dinner with scrumptious local cuisines.
Day 6: Chiang Mai – Cooking Class (L)
Today, Chiang Mai provides for students a cooking class with a local village instead of visiting the hustle and bustle city. This is because Chiang Mai is not only reputable for its delicious food, it is but also an ideal place to learn the art of Thai cuisine.
Upon arrival at the house, students can take a walk around the farm while the chef explains the herbs and ingredients. Then, they will have a great opportunity to learn to cook some local cuisines and have lunch with what they have prepared in advance. After that, students will spend your leisure time in places that interest them most after going back to the hotel.
Day 7: Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai (B, L)
Your next day in Chiang Mai, we will pay a visit to Chiang Rai which is the former capital of the Lanna Kingdom and is a captivating province filled with natural and cultural wonders. In this beautiful destination, Wat Rong Khun Temple is one of the must-see places for every traveler. The temple is completely different from any other temple in Thailand because it has been constructed entirely in a radiant white color with sparking reflections from mirrored glass mosaics embedded in the white plaster. More interestingly, students also have ample opportunity to observe the stunning views around this charming city, take photos and socialize with tribal locals.
Day 8: Bangkok Departure (B)
On the last day of this school trip, students and teachers can enjoy the flexibility to spend more time in places that interest them most. Complete the tour with a delicious breakfast and then return transport to Chiang Rai Airport for our departure. 8-day Thailand student tour ends.
